Here, you will be served a menu based on local ingredients and an extensive wine list. Our chefs have a great passion for food, and we are constantly working to evolve and create inspiration so that we can offer the best for our guests. The menu changes with the seasons and availability of good ingredients.

Restaurant 1897 has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a culinary experience. The restaurant is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 PM.

When booking a table, please inform us of any allergies you may have. We recommend pre-selecting the menu to ensure the best timing, especially if you wish to try the “Chef’s Recommendation,” which includes 3 courses. If you cannot find an available table at your desired time, or if you wish to book for more than 6 people, please send us an email at post@bergstaden.no. If your desired time is fully booked, you can also add yourself to the waiting list, and we will contact you if any availability opens up.

Breakfast

Choose from our delightful breakfast buffet featuring a wide selection from local producers, and order a dish from the à la carte menu. Served Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Saturday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Warmly welcome to a great start to the day.

BREAKFAST MENU

We aim to focus on the environment and therefore reduce food waste while emphasizing local ingredients in our new concepts at the hotel. To reduce food waste and be more sustainable, we have partnered with TotalCTRL, a kitchen and food storage system. Together with TotalCTRL, we have initiated a project with ATEA to track food from producer to guest. This is a comprehensive project that aims to provide us with better oversight and food safety, but most importantly, it’s an additional tool for the guest. Knowing where the food comes from, its travel distance, and its CO2 footprint is becoming increasingly important to many. We aim to be at the forefront of this technology and provide our guests with better insights into what they’re eating.

We’ve all become accustomed to hotel buffets, which are anything but positive for the environment.

We want to be part of changing this trend, which is why we’re eliminating the classic buffet even for breakfast. We believe that fresh ingredients made to order are a much better alternative for both the guest and the environment. If we’re all a bit more conscious about what we eat and where our food comes from, we can collectively make a positive impact on the environment.
