Skanckebua is a lively gastropub right in the center of Røros, with good food from lunch to dinner and a wide selection of drinks. Skanckebua is known for its vibrant atmosphere and is equally suitable for small groups and groups of friends.

Friday - Saturday 12:00-02:00

The kitchen closes at 22:00 every day. 20-year age limit from 22:00 every day.

Skanckebua is the hotel's lively gastropub in the middle of the world heritage site - the only one of our restaurants not under the same roof as the hotel. Here you'll find soul, atmosphere and a wide selection of food and drink.

Join us for dinner with dimmed lighting and candles for an elevated dining experience where you can choose from a variety of delicious main courses made with local meat, fish and fresh vegetables. You'll also find vegetarian and gluten-free options. Skanckebua is a popular meeting place in the evenings for friends to gather. It's a great place to sample local beers, sip wine from the extensive wine menu and explore all the delicious handcrafted cocktails. At Skanckebua, the energy is always high and the atmosphere vibrant.

Looking for something a little more cozy and private for your group? Perhaps an experience with a unique three or four course menu with a lovely wine package? The Butter Cellar, traditionally used for storing dairy products, is a semi-private room that can comfortably accommodate up to 20 people. In this intimate space lives the soul of this historic building. The story is told through the rustic interior and its rich character can be seen and felt in the original walls throughout the room. This room is adorned with a long beautiful wooden table, modern fixtures and rustic art, making it a unique place for special gatherings, business meetings and celebrations.
